This project involved the expansion of the existing Al-Jouf Power Plant, based on two GE Frame -7EA gas turbine generator units (around 60 MW site rating each), operating on crude oil as primary fuel and distillate oil as start-up, shut-down and back-up fuel. Major balance of plant equipment included crude & distillate oil tanks, fuel handling & forwarding systems, plant heating-ventilation-air-conditioning and firefighting systems. The scope of the project also included a dedicated programmable logic controller-based control system for the plant controls.
